Wandering into Winter
Hello! Willow and Emily dropping by to say hello. Time has rushed by these past few weeks. Autumn blazed in beautiful colour for a few short weeks and then, before I knew it, winter snow arrived.
I tried to find my gloves and mittens but they remain hidden somewhere in my apartment! Thankfully, I have a hand warmer that I keep in my winter coat. That helps alot!
Emily and Willow "helped" me to start decorating for the Christmas season. Well, if truth be told, the tree isn't coming out this year. I feel Miss Willow would drag it somewhere and then destroy it. She recently demolished a fishing lantern that had belonged to my Mom. It is official. Willow is one of my kitty brats -she has destroyed something I loved :)
No worries, though. Mom found me a safer little tree for this year.
(not my photo)
So far this tiny tree has stayed upright on my credenza.
I think back to last Christmas when I still had my little bear, Winston, I miss my little guy so much.
I'm so very thankful for Emily and Willow.
I am trying to find a wet catfood, with lots of gravy, for Emily. She is very fussy and I haven't been able to find anything she likes. I welcome any suggestions for a healthy, wet kitty food-prefereably one with gravy.
Take care.

Autumn Musings
Hello. I recently enjoyed a week of vacation. Autumn seems to have come early this year. I was happy about this. I enjoying "leaf peeping" wherever I can. But before all that-Emily says hello. She enjoys cuddling when the weather turns frosty.
The cool air is refreshing after the sultry summer weather.
It is the perfect time to enjoy a warm beverage while you read a book.
Willow is getting bigger and, though I didn't think it was possible, even more spunky. Her favourite toys are emply toilet paper rolls and straws. I like that these are nice, cheap toys.
Blue Jay sighting at the park!
It was a quiet staycation. That isn't always a bad thing.
I will close for now with this funny from Pinterest.

Happy First Day of Autumn!
Hello. Happy first day of autumn. This morning it certainly felt like autumn. The air was brisk and frosty. My apartment temperature was at 55 F. Brr. Definetely time to turn on the heat. Thankfully, Emily and Willow like to cuddle. This is Miss Emily snuggling against my leg.
A couple of nights ago I got caught in a bad thunderstorm as I was walking home from work. Even with a rain coat and hood I was drenched by the time I got home. I squelched up the stairs and reminded Emily and Willow how fortunate they are that they were warm and dry inside. I warmed up with a hot chocolate.
I wish this photo was my apartment but it was taken a few years ago at a cabin I rented for a family outing :) Still, it is cozy!
Willow continues to delight me with her antics and spicey sweetness. She also continues to enjoy thieving-the furry little runt!
Signs of fall are all around me. I am looking forward to have a vacation in less then 2 weeks time.
Willow and Emily will close for now with a funny from Pinterest.

August
Hello, Willow here. We hope you are all doing OK. Things have been super busy for Mom. They are very short staffed at work and she come home extra tired. However, just to keep things lively for Mom I have taken up a new hobby. I like to steal things. Here is my list so far: her favorite pen, envelopes, the air conditioner manual, her mascara, a fork, a spoon, and finally her most recent rent cheque. I did notice an increase in her energy levels when she saw me taking the rent cheque. You are so welcome, Mom.
Hello all. Emily here. Mom is looking forward to her vacation in a few days. We will keep her entertained!
Take care and stay well.

Summer
Hello. I hope everyone is managing well. Here in Canada we celebrated Canada Day. I am not big on fireworks holidays. Willow and Emily were both scared of the firecrackers exploding. Thankfully, they didn't last more than half an hour.
Friday (July 1) would have been my day off anyway and then I worked on Saturday :) Perhaps I will have better luck and get the long weekend next time. I was able to walk to the park on Friday. It was surprisingly busy so early in the morning. Still I found the quiet, breeze and bird song healing.
Willow continues to grow. I can't remember the last time I had a feline with such an appetite! The other day, after a long, long day of work, I came home to see Willow grooming Emily. My heart was so happy to see them getting along. Though, if I'm honest, there are more games of smacky paws than I would like to admit!
I try to find, and remember, the small things that make me happy. I don't know why I tend to forget the small, happy moments and remember the sad ones. I guess that is part of being human.
Willow and Emily send purrs and head bops.
Signing off with a pinterest quote.

Birthday Girl
Miss Emily recently celebrated a birthday. She is now 9 years young!
Her birthday gift was the flip scratcher from Pet Fusion. Emily loves the triangle scratcher by the same company. She also seems to be enjoying this new scratcher as well. However, we had to entice her with a bit of the nip on this one.
Willow had her first vet appointment this past week. Dr. B said she is doing well. I often forget how shy Willow can be around new people. I had a few guests over on different days. In each instance she dove for cover.
Thankfully, she is feeling comfortable here now.
I was on vacation last week. It was wonderful to enjoy a slow morning and take walks in the park.
Willow and Emily wish everyone a great week!
