Festive Gallivanting

Hello!  Emily and Oscar here!   The Mom has been busy with Christmas activities all this past while.   It makes us felines tired.  Also, we are concerned she will neglect our needs if she keeps up with this frantic, festive pace.  We told you last week she went on a Christmas lantern tour at an old fashioned Christmas village.   The time frame is December 1911.   Most of her photos were pretty dark but we thought we could show you a few that were not too bad.
The only light in the tour was with kerosene lanterns.   Lovely but dark.
Mom used her flash after the tour group left.  This is the British house and the table is spread out with yummy food!   Do you think they would have feline treats for us?

This was the store.    Mom said there was lots of neat things for the time frame.  Pretty neat tree, eh!  We think that Santa looks a bit menacing, though.

Hello from Santa Winston.   Yes, the Mom has been gadding about doing Christmas type things this month.
This is from the tiny church at the village.  Their tour ended here and they sang Christmas carols!  Mom took this photo before the "concert" started...again with her flash or it would have been much darker.  The ladies who led the concert, who were dressed in period costume, sang beautifully!
Finally, the Mom went to a Christmas concert yesterday afternoon.  She has a seat far in the back and she said it was wonderful to see the entire stage!   The music was wonderful, too.   The audience got to sing carols as well.  Mom said one of her favorite things about this time of year is the music.
Finally, though, all this Mom stuff.  What about us?
Well...as we mentioned before, we are concerned that she has forgotten us.   There has been no mention of Christmas presents for us!   We haven't been THAT bad!   Or have we??

Felines making Merry!

Hello all.  Winston reporting from the Christmas tree!  See how beautifully I am NOT whapping at the ornaments with my paw.  I hope you all are being as good as I am.  Purrs.
The Mom person was off this weekend.  She did a lot of housework on Saturday.   She also went on a Christmas lantern walk at a local pioneer village museum.  She took a few photos there but, as the only light was from kerosene lamps,  they turned out a bit dark.
We got so much snow the past while.  Emily likes to watch it falling from beside the big window.
The Mom went out on Sunday afternoon to take some pictures.
It was an overcast day with the sun on briefly peaking through the clouds.
The last of the autumn roses.

Thankfully, there was some bright spots of color from these berries!

Mom said it lifted her spirits to see the cheery reds!
Hello from Oscar.   This snowy cold weather makes me want to cuddle up even more.   The vet gave Mom a sample of kitty wet wipes for me.   I have a hard time washing myself , well, except for my face, and so Mom helps me out.  I smell nicer now with some assistance from her.  I appreciate the extra purrs from people from blog land.   Getting old can be tough.
The snow was very pretty falling down.  Though we felines have heard that the humans don't like shoveling it or having to drive through it!
Isn't Mom silly?   Here is her Doctor Who figure!   She says he is a Christmas ornament!
Right, Mom!

I know why you really want the figurine out!   Oh Mom!  I blush on her behalf....
It's Miss Emily and I agree with Oscar:  Mom is silly!  I think she has a tiny crush on the actor.

Just a few more photos for you!  If you closely, you can see Mom's reflection in the Christmas ornament.
This family went all out on the Christmas lawn decorations!
The quiet of a walk in the park...

Naughty, Nice and Everything in Between for the Felines

Hello from Emily.   First off, after hello!, is that I'm innocent.  Regardless of any so-called "incriminating" photos, I am innocent.   Enough said!
It's starting to look like Christmas!  Purrs for ornaments and sparkly things.
The pretty Christmas tree at the church Mom went to on Sunday.
The Christmas market Mom went to on Thursday after work!  She found what she wanted and left!
She was stoic and walked by the stall with the festive potato pancake and applesauce!  Maybe next year, Mom!
Purrs from Oscar.   I'm here at my favorite snuggle spot.  Mom keeps my blankets and towels nice and clean for me.   She also puts the heat pack on my legs.  The teddy bear, Mom thinks its company for me.   I don't know about that BUT his legs do occasionally make a nice, soft pillow for my head.
Some nice lady gave the Mom a "gift certificate for a pedicure.  Mom was so excited.
Mom chose a pretty color called Pompeii purple .  Except when her niece, A, saw the color she said it looked more pink.  Oh well.   Mom's toes were happy.  Also....
We got more snow last night.  Mom says the snowflakes look like tiny stars.   Unfortunately, the snow will melt by this afternoon.  Ok...now for the "incriminating" photos.   Emily and Winston are having another showdown!  On the dining room table AND in front of the Christmas tree!!

If they keep it up...I say Santa will fly right on over our place.

New Toy and Purrwowza!

Greetings everyone!   Oscar kitty here.   I'm interrupting my nap for you all.   Well, the Mom was off this entire weekend!  Purrs.   More treats, brushings and cuddles for me.   It has been chilly recently and I appreciate the extra blankets and heat packs Mom makes up for me and my achy legs.
Mom took this photo on her walk home one night.   I know it's nothing compared to what some other folks have experienced in the last while.   Even this snow melted by the end of the next day.
So--our Mom had company on Saturday.   Her Mom came to visit!   We three felines are her grandkitties!
However, before I get ahead of myself I'll just insert this photo of a gingerbread latte.   That is to warm up anybody who got cold looking at the snow photo.  Only, guess what?!   Mom thought it was a tea latte and it was a coffee latte.   Oops!   Mom said it was yummy but she didn't finish the entire mug because she has something called "insomnia".   Us felines have never dealt with this particular malady.   It sounds very strange...not sleeping well?   Yikes!
Purrs from Miss Emily.   Mom said I'm a shameless flirt.   (Well, maybe I am a little)   Her Mom came on Saturday and they went out for breakfast and then shopping.  Her is our "grandmom" modelling a pink feather boa.  What do you think?  Should Mom have bought that boa for me?  Don't you think I would look fetching in pink?
Well, Mom didn't buy us anything!   But our "grandmum" did...look at what we scored.  Purrwowza!
I love this toy with it's ball in a ring, dangling mousie and treat dispenser.
I'm going to catch that blue ball!  Or I would if Winston didn't take over.
Winston thinks he owns everything!

That is right, Pearl.   I do.   I think "grandmum" meant this toy mostly for me anyway.   Oh and guess what else?......I saw a picture of the grandmum's feline, Pearl.  She is beautiful!

Felines and the Comfy, Cozy Monday

Hello! It's Miss Emily today.  I need to apologize for my Mom person.  She worked all weekend.   For some reason this made her behind on everything.   I have to say that I was feeling a bit snubbed.  I mean, I have things to tell you all.
It seems like just like last week when we looked outside there were still golden leaves left on a few of the trees!  Mind, some of the trees were bare but there were still a few with leaves on them.  Mom took this photo on her walk to work.
She took this photo at the park.  It was a very grey day and also foggy.  The temperatures have been very mild.   All that changed this weekend, though.  There were strong, blustery winds and even snow dust!!
 .....another photo from the park
Mom likes this photo of Winston and I because she says we both look grumpy.  Whatever!   Winston had been washing my face and he stopped WITHOUT asking my permission!  Cheeky feline.
Guess what!  I also saw a squirrel and some crows from the living room window.  Mom finally had to get somebody to take out the air conditioner .   She is not very strong.   So some friends helped her out with that.   Now the view from the window is so much better for me!  Mom said I shouldn't be so eager to take on the crows as they were almost as big (the Mom says bigger) than me.
Oscar here.  Excuse me if I don't get out of my comfy, cozy spot on the back of the sofa.  Mom is right...it's so much colder.
Time to drag out the mittens.  She thinks she may also break down and buy a pair of boots.   She has been thankful that the snow was just a dusting...no accumulation as of yet.
However, it's not all bad, this colder weather.

She turns on her tiny tree lights for a soft glow when it gets dark outside.
Warm beverages also help!
It's also great weather for a good book.  This is a tiny library she went to visit.  It looks cozy, yes?  I think it would be perfect if they got a cat.
Mom had a massage scheduled today and the lady at the clinic had turned on the glass fireplace.  It was heavenly!
