Cuddle Weather

Hello everybody.  Oscar kitty today.   I wanted to take a brief interlude from my nap to say hello and to let you know what I have been up to this past week.  It's cold and snowy outside so I'm very thankful to be an inside kitty.   Especially with my pesky arthritic back legs.  I fall down a lot these days.   Mom lifts me up to my favorite spot on the back of the sofa.   Then she has a little kitty sized heat pack that she puts on my legs.   She also (don't tell anybody) gets an extra soft towel to tuck me in.   I appreciate it, too.   I'm not as fluffy as I have been and I feel the cold more keenly.
I also have to say I've been enjoying my kitty cuddler.   The official name is the kitty shack.   However, it so soft, private and cozy that Mom calls it the kitty cuddler.   I have a hard time with heights of any kind (including the litter boxes) but I've no problem getting into this little cocoon.  I'm so pleased Mom forked over more cash for it!  It's mine, too, all mine!  I've seen Winston eyeing it but I've staked my claim!   Unlike this fancy feline, I tend to hide inside, where I can be all warm and safe!
Oscar is NOT telling fibs.  I have been coveting that cuddler!   But I now he needs it more than me so I'll let him enjoy it.  I've been snuggling closer to the Mom person some winter nights.  Not always.  I don't want her to become too dependent on my warm fluffiness or anything!   Humans can be so clingy!
She is up to her usual.   The Mom will take her camera and go for walks on her days off and take photos of the freshly fallen snow!
Then she likes to cozy up with a nice warm beverage.   I've discovered that warm beverages can improve any grumpy tendencies that may have crept into her personality!  If you notice a human that is not following standard human/feline servant procedure, I suggest a warm tea, I find it makes them more agreeable to live with!
Purrs from Miss Emily!   I love this heated cat bed.   Mom had originally bought it for Oscar's ouchy back legs but it just wasn't for him.  I, on the other, find it perfect to warm up and drape my fluffy tail over the edge with a coy expression.   (Perhaps I'm a bit of flirt, too!)   Mom sure does give the Oscar kitty lots of extra love these days.   She tries to pet him whenever she walks by and tells him how much he is loved...well, she sure does spoil him.   I guess I shouldn't complain too much.   He will be 18 years old in a few months.   Besides, I have this fabulous feline "chaise lounge"!

I will close for now.   This is another meal Mom enjoyed.   Cold snowy weather calls for visits with friends and comfort food.   Us felines, though, we just want our kibbles and our temptations!   Which reminds me--MOM we are running low on our favorite treats!    We will allow here to visit your felines blogs once she has completed her regularly scheduled feline maintenance duties.
Purrs for a cozy week!

    1. Thanks, Whiskeratti! Staying cozy is very important. Mom tries to take care of Oscar. The senior years are a bit of a challenge but we are adjusting. Oscar has another "spa" day this week!
      Purrs to you all.

  2. The only nice thing about Winter is that mom pots out lots of cozy blankies and even a sleeping bag for us.
The sleeping bag is really cozy and holds our body heat :)
It is good that Oscar has some very cozy sleepy spots.
    He looks comfy.
Mom says your Mom's lunch looks yummy!

  4. Your mum is taking wonderful care of you, Oscar, and of course she loves you very, very much. Continued purrs from us. (BTW, that kitty cuddler looks fantastic.)

It looks like you're all weathering the winter just fine! Only a couple more months and the temps will be warming up nicely (we hope).

Tell your mum, yes, that's the same owl. Our biped had wanted one for a couple of years, then picked it up last year (?) during Boxing Week or some such...it was on sale, anyway. :-)

We like your owl and the Mom's owl. Only she doesn't approve of us smacking it around. Party pooper!

    1. Mom laughed when she read about the Winston and Emily hat. Those two are so rambunctious that it just wouldn't work. I do love the cuddler. Thanks so much for your visit!

  7. Oscar you are sure needing the comfort these days and especially as it is very cold outside!! And it is true that humans get a big grumpy if they don't get their preferred beverage and comfort food!!

    1. Hi Austin. Warmed heat packs, soft towels, omega 3 oil, preferential feline lifting treatment (I can't get to the back of the sofa) and the kitty cuddler. I'm sure I can think of a few more ways I can get her to help me out...but you are so right about the big grumps! Tea and chocolate is what they need. Purrs for your visit.
