Spring time

bluejay by cherithsky

I took this photo of a busy bluejay last night on my walk home from work. I was a bit surprised that he didn't fly away while I took his photo. He looks like he is busy getting a nest ready, though.
Went to a church book sale this morning. I was expecting a table of paperbacks. Imagine my delight when I found the auditorium filled with tables and tables of books. In addition to the books were CD's and DVDs and some lovely homemade crafts! I spent a blissful hour rummaging through the all the items hoping to stumble upon something wonderful. I left with a cookbook on preparing an afternoon tea. It's an older book but there are plenty of colored photos and recipes that set my mouth a watering =)
Also in tow were several compact discs, they looked new, and a knitted dish cloth and the cutest little tea towel with cat appliques on it.
It's been a cool, overcast spring day here. My brat cats are snoozing a bit more than usual and they seem a bit hungrier than normal as well.
Hope everyone had a lovely Saturday!

Happy cat

I took this photo a few years ago in early May. This sweet little kitty seemed to be enjoying all the blooming flowers. You can see a reflection of golden forsythia in the window.
Just a question I want to throw out there if anyone has an answer :)
My Winston kitty is a ragdoll with a lovely thick coat. He tends to get matts in his fur-mostly his lion's mane. The thing is, he is not crazy about being brushed. I have one brush, the zoom groom, which he adores and that will pick up loose fur . However, when I catch a matt forming-teeny tiny-I need a brush with finer teeth and those combs he does not like at all. (He will bite me-gently) Usually, I end up having to take him to the vet :( so they can give him a buzz cut. Any reasonalbe ideas would be welcome. It's starting to get warm again and he already has a matt
my poor little gaffer.

"A cat can purr its way out of anything." - Donna McCrohan

So far today:
-used the new sofa as a scratching post
-attacked poor Lucy as she was trying to nap in the spring sunshine
-ignored me while I scolded him
-tried to escape through the front door
-totally ignored me while I warned him of the many dogs-boxers and labs-who could be in the hallway should he escape into the hallway
my little brat
i wouldn't trade him for anything!!

Guardian Kitty

This cute little feline was watching me carefully as I tried to take his photo from the sidewalk =) I call it guardian kitty mode.
I had just dropped off some books at the library and was enjoying the early spring evening: birds were singing, flowers were blooming and there was a fresh, soft breeze.
What could be more perfect? This little cutie, that's what!
I'm leaving to go in for work soon. Yesterday evening seems so very long ago.
Now if I can just stop eating black licorice. The store had a sale. I have self-control, truly, I do. ~sigh~
just one more piece before heading in-to fortify myself.
Have a lovely day, eh!

Spoiled cats

My cats have their own margarita glasses =)
They always seemed to want to drink out of 'people' glassware so I started buying patio stemware for them to partake of their beverages ....
they do seem to drink more water this way, though. My own cup of tea is safe-for now!

Easter-The blossom time of souls. ~Katherine Lee Bates

Easter by cherithsky

Yesterday, Thursday, I was off work! I walked to my hairdressers (about 40 minutes) and was happy to see all sorts of beautiful spring time blossoms. The weather was chilly but sunny which is gorgeous walking weather.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter!!
