My Lucy

When I came home from work tonight I noticed Lucy's breathing was labored.   I took her into the vet's office and was able to hold her and tell her how very glad I was that she chose me all those years ago.  That I was thankful for her sweetness.  She was my little heart healer.  I will miss her so very much.  She was one of a kind.   Losing her hurts so much.
Thank you to everyone who sent their thoughts, prayers and purrs through this roller coaster ride.

  3. I'm so sorry Maggie. I know your heart is broken right now and you need some time. You did the last loving thing we can do for our precious cats but it is always so hard. Lucy was one of the lucky cats as so many never know the love that she did. She was so fortunate to have a life of contentment and love. I hope all the wonderful memories of her will help you heal. May she rest in peace. Sending a hug, Deb.

  8. We are so sorry it was time for sweet Lucy to go. We know very well how much it hurts when one of our sweeties leave and we are thinking of you. I am happy for you and Lucy that you got to be with her, hold her and talk to her before she left. She left with you lots of precious memories to cherish and help you through this hard time and the years to come. Still praying for you. Warm, gentle hugs sweet Maggie.

  9. And God asked the feline spirit are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
    To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
    Soon, replied the whiskered angel
    But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
    That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

    Eventually they will understand,
    Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

  10. I'm so sorry, I'm crying for you, because I know the heart break, and I know that grief is something we all go through alone--even though others understand the pain, we can't take that journey away from you.

Wishing you peace and healing, and wishing sweet Lucy godspeed.

    Blessings.

    Kim

  13. We know how difficult it was to make that last decision on behalf of Lucy's best interest. But we can't explain pain to our babies and they shouldn't ever have to endure it. You were kind in choosing to let her go before she suffered too terribly.Lucy, was loved , had food at the ready, had a wonderful home. Her time on earth was gentle and good. Look to your heart. You will find her there when the ache subsides.

We are sending you our love and hugs from,

the critters in the cottage xo and their Mama Sophie too XO

  31. FYI: I had asked Ann @ Zoolatry to do a Rainbow Bridge badge for Lucy, because I wanted one for my page on the cats' blog. She's made it, but it's also been posted on the Cat Blogosphere now, so if you have people stopping by with condolences this is why. I hope I haven't offended or upset you in any way -- I wasn't thinking of it being posted to the CB when I asked. :-/

If you're upset about this and want to email me, I'm at keas DOT fuzzy DOT tales AT gmail DOT com.

    Peace.
