Girl's night out

Oscar kitty reporting live from Mom's apartment on the annual "Girl's Night Out".  Honestly, peoples and felines.  They act like kids when they get together.  tsk tsk.
Anyway, I'm not here to judge.  I'm here to report on their shenanigans.
Mom cancelled all but one of her bed and breakfast retreats when Lucy got sick.  She and her Mom and two of her sisters book a bed and breakfast somewhere close by. Photos to follow:
Their room with electric fireplace and flat screen TV.

One of the sister chicks "getting down" as Mom puts it.  Honestly, people are crazy.  Us felines always try to maintain our dignity.
Face blurred on purpose.  Mom knows Christmas is coming and she wants to get a present this year!

A little bit of window shopping.  Yes. Christmas decorations in the stores already.  I know the Winston brat can hardly wait to swat at/ climb/ knock over any decorations Mom dares to put up.
Mom really wants this tea towel.  She gave several broad hints and hopes to find it in her stocking in a few months.
A walk in the rainy wooded lot.  Another sister chick with her face blurred.  Mom loves her sisters but she knows they would get even if ever certain things came to light.  Plus,  Mom really, really wants those cute little rain boots.

Relaxing in the common area and warming cold toes by the fire

A morning walk in the woods.  The sun casting a soft, gold glow over the landscape.  The reflection in the pond was beautiful!
Finally, something worth reporting on!  Breakfast.  It was delicious and there was plenty!
Those crazy humans enjoyed their stay.  Oscar kitty signing off!

Lucy

Trotting Lucy kitty off to the vet again.
Her tummy is upset.
Hope everyone is having a fairly boring week!

Pouting Winston

Felines and peoples,
Lucy kitty is home. Mom is glad. But she sure is having a time learning to feed her through that tube. The first time it took her an hour and a half to fill the 3 syringes. Good thing Lucy is so patient.
I tried to make Lucy feel at home again by attacking her this morning. Mom yelled at me to leave her alone. Yelled. At. Me.
I'm gonna pout until Mom realizes the error of her ways.
Anyway, until Mom gets the hang of things she says "sorry, I might be a bit late checking and commenting on your blogs."
Sure, Mom, apologize to them but not poor me.
*sad kitty sigh*

Home

Peoples and felines,
Miss Lucy Lou is home   :)
I'm so happy she is back.  Learning to tube feed her is a challenge but I'm hoping I'll not let Lucy down.
My friend, J, came on Thursday.  She brought my kitty brats a gift- "the Cat Dancer"
The weather has turned quite chilly.  Time to enjoy a quiet moment in front of a fireplace.

Lunch with a Friend and Lucy gets cuddly

Folks,
We kicked Mom out on Thursday so she could visit with her friend, J.  She took Mom out for lunch.  Mom said it was yummy.  The dessert was heavenly.  One slice of chocolate cheesecake and two forks!!
They took a long walk through a wooded park to enjoy the autumn leaves.

Right after the visit, Mom went to the vet's to feed Lucy.  Lucy meowed and went to see Mom.  Lucy stood on her hind paws and placed her front paws on Mom's shoulder so she could cuddle.  Hoping Sunday she can come home.
After her feeding, Lucy leaned into Mom's neck and cuddled for about 20 minutes.  It wasn't easy to leave her.
Don't worry, Mom, I'll be right here waiting for you with cuddles, too.

Autumn walks and tube feedings

Mom walked to the  grocery store this morning.  It's starting to look like autumn now!

After that, she went to the vet's office to get her 1st lesson in tube feeding Lucy.  Mom is queasy it wasn't easy for her, folks.

This is the vet demonstrating how to feed through the tube.

This is Lucy is her stainless steel "spa" room.  She was more alert today.

Lucy purred all during Mom's 1 hour visit.  But Lucy still couldn't come home.  Maybe tomorrow.

Mom-get it together!

We know Mom is worried about Lucy. She is still at the vet's. Her feeding tube was put in this morning. But us two boys are trying to get her pull it together --we need her healthy if she is going to take proper care of us. The other day she forgot to put her frozen meat back in the fridge. What a waste! She goes to bed late--2 am and wakes up early--4am.
We have encouraged her, with our subtle feline hypnosis-to get out there and do stuff. I think we were successful!

She kept her pedicure appointment today.
oh la la!
She got her hair done.  She said the hair salon is so funky she is surprised they even let her inside!
She took long walks outside and enjoyed the autumn leaves.
Finally, she went to visit Lucy and to watch how to tube feed her.  More on that later!
We hope everyone had a great day.  Don't forget to cuddle your feline, folks!!

Thanksgiving and Lucy

Thanksgiving by cherithsky
Thanksgiving, a photo by cherithsky on Flickr.
It's Thanksgiving Day here in Canada.
My family lives out of town so I don't have the fun of celebrating with them and eating turkey. I was able to go out for breakfast with some friends, though.
I mentioned to them that Lucy was still at the vet's office and I mentioned I hadn't heard anything back yet from the vet. Since the office is closed over the long weekend, I was not sure what to expect and sent several e-mails and left a couple of voice mails asking how she was doing and when I could pick her up. My friend and her hubby suggested actually going to the office and knocking on the door. *sigh* I was desperate and, to my surprise Dr. B. was actually in and let us all in. The short version of what she said: The blood tests came back fine. But Lucy is still NOT eating. She wants to put in a feeding tube Tuesday morning and I can pick Lucy up on Wednesday. I asked if Lucy would be O.K and they vet said they were trying. (I'm trying not to dwell on that) She let me pick Lucy up. Lucy purred and cuddled and drooled with joy. I was so happy that I embarrassed myself by crying.

Winston-I'd be thankful if Mom would clue in to my subtle "feed me" hints

Lucy-always grateful for cuddles.
Oscar-always thankful for a nice, comfy snooze!

Please

Please think, pray, purr for Lucy.
It's not good.
Update Saturday, Oct 12th 8pm
Dropped Lucy off at the vet's today before heading to work.
The vet wants her to spend the night (again) and has sent off more
tests.  She is hoping the results will be in early tomorrow morning.
She force fed Lucy some tinned food.  The good news is that Lucy
didn't try to spit it out.
Officially, on vacation now.   Relieved that there won't be (I hope)
nearly as much rushing around.
Thanks, peoples and felines.
Update Sunday, Oct. 13 7:30 pm
I've heard nothing from the vet.   Sent several e-mails and left voice mail--but no response.  Trying very
hard not to worry.

Lucy Kitty

Peoples and felines, This is Lucy kitty.  I'm still not feeling very well.  But Mom still gives me all my pills-sometimes up to 9 a day.  She walked to the vet's office this morning to pick up something called "forti-flora" and it's supposed to help with my upset tummy.  The antibiotics are strong.  I still need to get pills for at least 2 1/2 weeks.
Mommy has not been well the last week.  She has a very bad cold.  She keeps losing her voice.  This is terrible as the Winston kitty needs scolding at LEAST several times a day.  I suggested to her that she pour herself some tea and honey and drink up.  This teacup and saucer is her most recent thrift store find.
This is Winston Kitty giving me a face wash.  I was very relaxed.  Don't get the wrong idea, though.  Usually, he is totally a brat.  Mom is off work next week.  She is on vacation.  She has cancelled two of her bed and breakfast getaways so she can spend time with me.   Right now I am purring on her lap to show that I appreciate her efforts.
