A "Traumatic" Monday for Emily

Hello kitties.  First off you need to know that this post is all about me...Emily.   Winston can have his turn next week.  You will completely understand why.  Mom took me to the vet's office this morning.  I still need to go in for a monthly grooming because I'm small, but I'm fierce too!
The horror started with Mom putting me in the carrier.

Here is the carrier.  We are waiting for the cab.  Don't worry, kitties, I made sure Mom paid for her betrayal.  I scratched (her neck)and fought etc.  Then once I was finally inside the roomy carrier I meowed.  Wowzers!   Even I was impressed with my feline vocal stylings!
Mom didn't dare to take any photos of me in the office.  I was too fearsome.  The vet had to call in for reinforcements.  They did find 3 tiny knots.
When were done I ran into the carrier of my own free will!  Then Mom went out to the receptionist's desk to make another appointment for me.
This handsome black kitty helped to ease a bit of the tension.  Mom thought he was cute.
Also--kitties--I'm starting to trust Mom a bit more.  I will allow her to brush around my head and my mane.  I'm getting better.  I don't know why I go all crazy kitty.
After we finally got home, I showed Mom I forgave her by headbopping her.  She picked me up and said , "Emily, how can I make this easier for you.  I feel bad that you are so frightened"
Then Mom let me sniff her snazzy new red shoes.  Kitties, I love Mom's shoes.  Only Mom puts these new shoes high up on a shelf when she isn't wearing them.  I love them a bit too much and she needs them for sore middle aged feets.

So felines.   I've mostly forgiven Mom.   I glared at her quite fiercely in the vet's office even though she was sitting in the corner while the vet and technician tried to brush my furs.  Can you understand why I needed to get this off my chest. I'm going to relax now.  Mom is going to try and find a scarf so she can cover up my kitty scratch.
Purrs to you for a great week with NO vet visits!
Purrs,
Miss Emily and Winston Kitty

    1. I don't know why Eastside Cats! I just do. The vet said I was even more fractious than usual this morning.
I am pretty cute. I just wish I didn't need brushings to maintain it.

  2. Emily, oh, what a terrible experience! At least you didn't make things easy for the bipeds. We do think you were a bit too quick to forgive your mom, though!

LOL @ the comment that you love your mom's shoes "a bit too much". That cracked us up!

We hope you week gets MUCH better from here on in, Emily.

    1. Hi Fuzzy Tales. Thank you for understanding. Yes, Mom's new shoes are quite enticing! I like to stick my entire face inside the shoes. I enjoy using the shoe as a pillow. Nibbling on the shoe is also quiet enjoyable. I know Mom is concerned that I might bite through one of the elastics at the top. Winston once managed to completely sever the back strap of a sandal. (*she was very cross!*)
      Purrs to you all.

    1. Hi Robin, Thank you! I was mortified that they tried to brush me...who did they think they were.
Mom is lucky I forgave her, I think.
      Thanks for visiting.

  6. We do not like Vet visits either.
One of our carriers is just like yours, but mum uses the soft ones when she walks to the Vet. Sadly our Vet is less than a 10 min walk !
We are glad you are all floofy again and have forgiven your mum.
Our mum likes her red shoes. Are they sneakers or shoes?
    Purrs for you Emily.

    1. Hi~
Mom takes us to the vet by cab now. It's a short drive. I like to give the cab driver a nice little solo so he will always remember me.
Mom says the shoes are from Rieker and they are a low rise sneaker.
      Purrs,
      Emily

  7. Sorry you had such a tough time. Maybe a calming collar would make you feel better on these trips. They smell like lavender and have phermones.

    1. Hello,
I've never heard of a calming collar. I'll have to look into it.
