Hello all! It's Miss Emily. I am very happy in this photo. Mom moved our scratcher and I love the new location!
I hogged it all to myself! Do you see Winston on the floor?! Ha! He is going to have to wait a while before I decide to share.
We have been having some very hot, humid weather again! Phew! There were even some tornado warnings in nearby counties. Sometimes our Mom, when she leaves for work, tells us "Guys, if the weather gets bad go into a small interior room. Like the bathroom! Stay away from the windows if there is bad weather." That last sentence is mostly for Winston. When there is a bad storm he likes to run to the windows to see what all the commotion is about!
After the storms, the sun comes back out, though.
Good morning purrs from Winston. Mom says she loves this photo of me even if it is a little dark. This is how I look when Mom is on the computer and I want her attention. It gets me what I want almost every time!
Yes, very hot. Mom is making lots of homemade iced tea. She says it is very simple and she gets to control the sugar.
Here is the recipe:
- 8 cups water
- 3 orange pekoe tea bags
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- In a large saucepan, heat water to a rapid boil. Remove from heat and drop in the tea bags. Cover and let steep for 1 hour.
- In
a large pitcher, combine the steeped tea and the sugar. Stir until
sugar is dissolved, then stir in lemon juice. Refrigerate until chilled.

One of the nice things about the all the rain is that the flowers are blooming!
A rain drenched peony....
and a daisy.
We hope everyone is staying comfortable and dry!
PS-Maybe next time I'll tell you about our new cat nip toy!
Stay nice and cool, kitties! Sorry to hear about the heat and storms, and cannot wait to find out about your new toy
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! We will try to relax more than usual so we stay relaxed.
DeletePurrs,
Winston and Emilly
Winston, that's a great look. Very hard for Mom to ignore, we're certain.
ReplyDeleteThanks Whiskeratti! I do try to look winsome!
DeleteFunny how cats will use something when it's in a certain location, but not in another. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou guys looks great! It's been humid here too, but probably not as humid as where you are (west of Toronto, we're guessing). Apparently close to Tornado Alley! :-O We hope you'll all stay safe!
Our biped used to make iced tea, but hasn't in a while. A nice chamomile would be good iced, and probably no sweetener required.
Have a good week, all of you. The temps (at least here) are supposed to be more moderate, not as much humidity, so it should be okay.
Purrs and peace.
hi Fuzzy Tales-Thankfully, the tornado warnings were not for our county this time. However, they were for some of our Mum's relatives. Miss Pearl (our Mom's cat) was in one of the county's with a warning.
DeleteHmmm...chamomile. Mom never tried that! She has reduced the sugar in the recipe from 3/4 cups to 1/4 cups.
We hope everyone is doing well.
New toy?
ReplyDeleteYes! Our old catnip toy was getting a bit soggy and gross. About time Mom did something about it!
DeleteHave a great day.
We do not get tornado warnings where we live, thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteHurricane warnings are bad enough. Mum's sister is in Ottawa and they
had tornado warnings.
Mum is familiar with that "you need to get away from the computer" look.
She thinks you look very handsome Winston ;)
Mum is mostly a coffee drinker, but she likes tea and herbal tea as well.
She likes that recipe too and will try it out.She does not like mixes as they are too sweet and taste of chemicals rather than tea :)
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
We send our purrs that the bad weather goes away...and you, Winston stay away from the windows if it comes.
ReplyDeleteOooh, a new toy!!! Do tell.
Pee Ess: Mom bean says she never knew iced tea was so easy...she's always bought the powder. What a silly!
we were having those super hot temps too but thankfully they left us. We never did get any storms. Oh how I miss iced tea! Due to my kidney stones iced tea is totally off limits, I used to LOVE it!! catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteYou are such cuties. I always enjoy seeing photos of you.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, sweet Miss Ellie and sweet Winston. Winston did you ever get your turn on the scratcher? We hope you all are staying safe in the weather. So you have a new toy...we hope you are liking it. Your mom's tea sounds refreshing. Hugs and nose kisses
ReplyDeleteHi Winston and Emily, you both are looking wonderful! We have been having crazy weather this last week or so. Makes for wonderful photos though.
ReplyDeleteHope you both had a turn on the scratcher!
Take care
