Greetings all! It's Winston. First I would like to wish all of the Canadian readers a "Happy Thanksgiving"! It is tomorrow.
Next...guess what!? Mom finally got my birthday gifts. (More than a month late!) Here I am standing next to my favorite treats in the word: Temptations Seafood Flavour.
Apparently, it is also Emily's favorite treat. The nerve of her!
I also got a catnip toy. Can you see Emily? I just know she wants to play with my new toy, too!
What do you say felines? Should I share?
Mom has been off on her staycation. She really appreciates having slow mornings where she writes in her journal. This beautiful journal was a gift from Mom's sister. Mom is also excited to be using her autumn plates. There are tiny birds on an autumn branch.
(That is a slice of pumpkin bread and a mug of tea--how boring!)
She also felt like she could color a wee bit. Mom says it is relaxing. Except when Emily thinks the pencil crayons are toys that need to be smacked off the table and hidden!
Mom also went on a day trip to a lovely place called Winter Wheat in Sparta, Ontario. There is a very creative artist at work here! Mom liked this "jazz cat"

Kitties, lots more stuff is going on. However, we need to be brief, at least for now. Do you see this lovely figurine? It's a Willow Tree Angel. Our Mom has several. Well, guess what, Mom got all misty when she received this one. (The image is taken from the Willow Tree Angel site)
It's called Surrounded by Love. Her niece bought it for our Mom and gave it to her on Saturday when Mom's sister and niece came for a visit. Mom said it made the hard bits in her heart feel a bit softer. She wanted to cry, happy tears, but knew her niece would probably make fun of her!!

Hi Winston! Finally you got your presents! Our vote is no to sharing the Temptations with Emily and yes to sharing the nip toy -- but only AFTER you've slobbered all over it. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour mom seems to be having a wonderful staycation! The colouring book is lovely -- our biped always cringes when she reads quotes about effecting a change, because that seems to be (one of) her big issue right now. "If you want your life to be different, you have to start reacting to life differently." Daunting and difficult when you are mired in your comfort zone and have been for years, and don't want to upend your life and live in a cardboard box under a bridge. But we digress.
What a fabulous day trip! We must Google for Winter Wheat. It looks like a lovely place to visit.
Oh, and your mom's fall dishes are fantastic. She certainly knows how to take joy in the small things--or seems to.
Our biped loves that angel. She has one of them, holding a cat, which she has beside Annie's ashes (urn) and the memorabilia she has of both Chumley and Annie.
Lots of hugs and purrs to you all, especially to your mom, for whatever is going on.

ReplyDeleteThe colouring books is fun. The change quote makes our Mom cringe,too. Especially in light of recent events. Mom was trying focus on the "Everything is going to be OK" page, though. We hope you are managing OK. (just in case we send you our softest, most soothing purrs)

We were wondering, if you read our reply, what is the name of your blog? Mom has tried to visit you by clicking on your name in the above comment but it just says profile not available. You must excuse our Mom if she is missing something obvious. Her geek level for some things is not very high.

DeleteYes, I think it was about time I finally got my b-day presents. I think Emily was very cheeky trying to play with my stuff before I had a proper chance to investigate them.
Mom says thank you for your comment on her plates. She only has one of each for this autumn bird pattern: one plate, one bowl and one cup.
