Good morning all! It's Oscar here today to start of the post. We don't know how your human acts in winter-all that ice, snow, blowing wind and cold-but our human sometimes starts to feel a bit blah. She told me that she wished she could curl up like I do and sleep the day away. While I understand her sentiment(it really is quite wonderful to sleep, nap, snooze through the day!)we can not allow her to indulge in this activity. Somebody MUST take care of us and pay our bills. So I held a conference with the other two kitty brats and we drew up an action plan for our human to follow. I suggested that she indulge in a warm beverage-perhaps a cup of tea-her favorite is Harney & Son's hot cinnamon and spice-and a scone.
Our Mom might also consider a hot apple cider or a hot chocolate with whipped cream and, if she is really needing it, perhaps some rainbow sprinkles.
Hello folks and felines. It's Winston reporting from the comfy kitty bed. It sure is wonderful being able to cuddle down when it looks so nasty outside. However, I agree with Oscar when he says Mom must not give in to her urge to hibernate through the winter. Who would play with us, clean our litter and pay for our expensive kitty food....Nope-we CAN NOT allow that to happen. My suggestion for the winter blahs was to "embrace the cold"! Goodness, she is Canadian after all. She should have the gumption to get out there and brace the ice and snow. Therefore, I suggested she take an nice walk, warmly bundled of course, and breathe in the fresh air.
She could take a nice long walk in the park. I also happen to know that there is a cafe not too far from her favorite park. Perhaps she could warm up with another tea before heading home. We may even consider giving her cuddles when she returns--if she isn't too cold of course.
Hi all. It is my turn now! It's Emily. I want to report that I just agree with the boys to make them happy. I try giving Mom lots of head bops. She isn't used to head bops. She said no other kitty has given her as many head bops as I do! I think she likes it because it makes her smile. However, I have another suggestion. When she comes back from a cold winter photo walk she can try to warm up her cold toes with these----
TA-DA! Ruby sparkle slippers. A nice lady gave these to Mom as a gift. Are they not tres chic! They are Snoozies which are very comfortable. They also sparkle and shine! I am showing my toes in the photo to show that I think they would look very nice on me. Mom just laughed and tried to tickle my toes tufts. If she continues with that I will not give her another head bop (hmph)
So...there you have it. Let us know if you have any other reasonable suggestions to help your human with the winter blahs.
Purrs for a good week.

Those slippers are AWESOME! What a great, cosy gift.
ReplyDeleteWe'd suggest lying on our human's face to suffocate her and put her out of her winter misery, but then who would feed us?
Winston once tried lying down on Mom's face while she was trying to sleep. He thought she would appreciate the face cuddle-she did not. She gasped and snorted and whined about not being able to breathe. *sigh* So difficult to please. Still, it took us a very long time to get her trained just the way we like.....Purrs for the visit!
Deletethat is some pawesome advice to escape the winter blahs and those ruby slippers are to die for!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! The slippers are very pretty!
DeleteTruly, why would your momma want to leave the house EVER, with three such beautiful kitties to snuggle with? Although born and raised in Michigan, I really don't groove on winter either, but I get out there to hang with my friendly ferals. Sometimes, it's a wonder to stand outside and enjoy Mother Nature in the cold.
ReplyDeleteWe (Mom and us felines) send you purrs for taking care of the ferals in your area.
Delete...and a head bop from Emily
Well, we have to say that you three sweeties are a big temptation to hibernate in winter, you would be such sweet, warm things to cuddle up to and just snooze the winter away. Those slippers are pretty and they look snuggly warm too. Hugs and nose kisses
ReplyDeleteWe do try to be cuddle bugs. Purrs to you, Pooh!
DeleteMOL, Indulged furries, uhm, no. No smothering! MOL!
ReplyDeleteWe think the hot tea and a stop at the café are lovely ideas. Has your mom ever tried the less-sweet drinking chocolate? Our mom loves it! Especially with a bit of cinnamon added. Mmmmm. And she's on the hunt for some good warm slippers. Hers have HOLES! oops!
Your Mom needs new slippers!
DeleteWhat is this less sweet drinking chocolate?
Mom is curious now.
Purrs,
the kitty brats
We can actually hear those slippers singing , "there's no place like home!" We get rain and grey here in Vancouver, snow very rarely. Our mama does some kind of exercise daily to keep the blues at bay! :) But tea and goodies are also necessary :)
ReplyDeletethe critters in the cottage xo
Yes. Mom was thinking if she took the slippers to work she could put them on after her shift ended and click her heels together just to save her the walk.
DeleteYour Mom is very wise to exercise....

Those are all good ideas. BTW, it’s nice to meet you. TW hates winter but takes a walk every day cos she feeds feral cats. What gets her through the winter is knowing there’s a Dunkin Donuts on the way home where she can get a LARGE hot coffee—except on Monday’s where they give free iced coffee this month.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you, too!
DeleteTW sounds wonderful to take care of the feral cats. Our Mom likes a cup of coffee first them in the morning. For some reason the humans seem to like this hot beverage.
Purrs,
the kitty brats
GREAT advice, kitties! Our humans aren't fans of winter, so they can use all the tips you can give. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs!
We are glad our tips will help your humans!

Our person dislikes winter very much so all those ideas sound wonderful to her. Would love one of those scones. Have a great day and stay warm.
DeleteMum hates winter rain and/or snow - she can't decide which is worse!!
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
I'm Sasha, Sami, & Saku's mom...and my cure for the winter blues is to go far away. Unfortunately it means I can't be near my kitties and I miss them a lot! Enjoy the snuggles and head bops, stay warm and enjoy those ruby slippers!!
