Woofie, Railroad Tracks and Presents!

Hello!  Winston here.  We hope everyone is doing OK.  Emily and I are happy to get a chance to touch base and say hello.  Our Mom has been late in posting for us.  AGAIN!  She recently went on a hike on a community trail and wiped out on a railroad track.  Did we mention that our Mom is a bit clumsy.  A kind-hearted man and his dog waited for her to catch her breath and to make sure she could get up!  The next day it looked like Mom had been beaten up.  In spite of this, she still managed to get us felines our food, treats and clean out our litter!  Also, she kept thinking about the tiny dog that kept trying to make our Mom feel better when she was sitting in the middle of the railroad track.  Sheesh, Mom, we think that fall rattled your brain a tiny bit.  Liking a woofie of all things!

Here is a photo from another walk!  You will be relieved to know that she didn't trip over anything on this hike!
Enough of Mom's klutzy moves!  See this big box?!  Our fancy pants scratchy post finally came from Amazon.  Mom tried to locate this scratchy post in a store but she was only able to find it online.

This is me, Winston, giving the new post a try.  So far I am not sure of it.  Emily, on the other hand, loves it!  What a little traitor she is!  Doesn't she know that she is supposed to ignore for a little while so that Mom can fret about wasting money?
Hi folks!  It is Emily now.  I'm enjoying a little cuddle with Mom on the sofa.  It is true that I love the new scratching post. Mom hopes that this verticle post will stop me from scratching the arm of the sofa.
Mom's favourite flower is the lilac.  Of course, they are all gone now but she certainly enjoys the blooms and the scent for the few weeks that they are around.

In other news, Mom got her first Covid shot.  She was very nervous.  However, she is relieved that it is now half done.

Be safe.  Be well.  We will close with this funny from Pinterest.

Purrs,

Emily and Winston

  1. Oh gosh, we're sorry your mum took a spill on her hike, but we're glad the man and his dog stopped to make sure she was okay. The photo from her other hike is gorgeous, btw.

We love your new scratcher and are glad that at least one of you is using it. :-D

Take care and have a great week.

  2. It is hard to walk on railroad tracks - the ties are just a bit too far apart to take in one stride, so you have to come down with one foot between the ties, or else try to balance on the rails, (If you are 5'6" or less, like our huMom ) so we are glad your Mom didn't come to harm.

  3. Nice to see an update from you 2 cuties, but I am sorry your mom fell. I hope she heals quickly. Did your mom put some nip on the scratcher- I bet you won't be able to resist it if she does that. :) XO

    1. Hello! We are happy to see you! The scratcher came with some nip. Maybe if Mom put some on the post Winston might find it more interesting.
      Take care.

    1. Thank you for visiting! It is a very nice scratch post! Emily still loves it! Mom keeps our toys on the inside so Winston will sometimes go next to it. However, he hasn't used it yet for scratching.
      Be safe.

  6. Sounds like your mom is healing now after her railroad track mishap. Tell her the housekeeper has done the same thing. Those tracks just stick up out of nowhere...We love seeing you, Winston and Emily. Have a good week ahead!

  7. I'm glad your Mom wasn't injured in her fall. She's walking in beautiful areas and took a lovely photo. That's a beautiful lilac. We have a large gardenia bush that's just finishing up it's blooms. Mom loves the scent. Lilac is a nice scent too.

  8. Oh gosh, I am so sorry you fell and hurt yourself so badly. What a total bad experience. I have done the same from time to time. My worst was on asphalt in a parking lot. I hope by now it is all just memory. You two gorgeous felines! Take better care of your Mom. XXX
