Monday Mischief

I wanted to thank everyone who visited the blog last week and left their kind thoughts and support.   The visits really did mean a lot to me.   I miss my orange boy.   So very much.
In the meantime-these two hooligans try to keep me occupied.   It's the innocent looking ones that are highly suspect!
Winston made me laugh with this sleep pose.  I'm not even certain how he managed to stay balanced with his fluffy bum half hanging over the back of the sofa.
Miss Emily also decided to show some furry tummy.   Only with her, I couldn't resist.  I had to give her a tummy tickle and a kiss.  I was very fortunate that I escaped that indiscretion with only an offended feline glare!
Winston proved once again that no place is really sacred here.  I mean-the top shelf of the closet seems like a great idea at the time...but getting down (yes, I did help him!)
I helped a friend celebrate her birthday last week.  This pie looked amazing!
I met another friend for a warm beverage on Saturday.   She gave me this awesome 💖cat pillow.  I've put it on the chair Oscar rested on.  I can't move his stuffed bear or his heat pack yet.
(The material is beautiful and silky which is why I think there is a bit of shine/glare when the flash went off)
Most of the beautiful snow has melted for our January thaw.  The sidewalks are great to walk on...no snow, no ice.    That might change soon as they are forecasting the possibility of freezing rain.  Honestly, I'd rather walk in a snow storm.

I want to close with this photo of my orange boy.  I'm back to work today (I had vacation booked last week).  I've many, many things to be thankful for including all the kind people who sent support.  I will try to visit each person to say hello, though, knowing me, it will take longer than I want it too.  Thanks for your patience.
I'll sign off with this quote I found on Pinterest..
Have a great week everyone and give your felines an extra cuddle.

  1. I love that quote by Milne. It is hard to look at it that way but it is truth. Well said by that beloved author.
Your orange boy looks as precious as he was to you in the last picture. Your other babies are luxuriously comfortable and deeply loved as is easy to see.

    1. Thanks for your visit. I'm trying very hard to look on the bright side. Sometimes I succeed and other times, not so much. Some days I feel OK...frozen and other days I feel very weepy.
I appreciate the visit and the comment.

  2. I see Winston and Emily are doing their best to cheer you. Winston is defying gravity in that sleeping pose!

That's a lovely photo of Oscar. Don't force yourself to remove or change anything until your heart feels ready. (((Hugs)))

    1. Thank you. The second last time I saw Oscar...I was visiting him at the vet's office. She let me see him in an empty exam room. I just seem to know -at least on a physical level-that things were bad. I had the worst throbbing pain in my temple. It wasn't until my eyes started crying that the clawing in my head left. Thank you for the support. Give your boys an ear scritch for me!

  3. From what little that I know about Buddhism, one thing I remember; that the soul of the departed go to a place called bardo, and they can be there for up to seven weeks. In those seven weeks, the family and loved ones of the departed continue to say prayers, send loving thoughts, and leave everything as it was. After seven weeks, the soul has moved on, and the living can take away favorite beds, bowls, etc. Angel Oscar knows that you loved and continue to love him, and I am sending you hugs and purrs.

    1. Thank you Eastside. I'm not very familiar with Buddhism but this is interesting. A few things I changed almost right away but I just couldn't get rid of the stuffed bear.
Thanks for the visit. Take good care.

  4. Wonderful photo of Oscar. I am not an eloquent writer like your other commenters but know that I think of you and know that you gave Oscar the best life a cat could want.
    Take care.

    1. Hi Mickey-I've noticed that Winston sometimes seems a bit pensive. if Miss Emily misses him I've yet to notice. She does make me laugh with her antics, though :)

  6. Those two will help you feel better, eventually. It's in their feline DNA. That really is a great picture of Oscar.

  7. It's not easy, but time will eventually temper the pain your feel and leave you with the sweet memories. Good on Winston and Emily to help you find joy (and laughter).

  11. That is a lovely photo of Oscar. Remember to be kind to yourself. Indulge yourself in small ways and let yourself feel whatever it is that you feel at the moment. You don't need a timeline to grieve, you just need time. Sending you lots of love and hugs.

  12. That is a great pillow. I don't blame you for not wanting to move Oscar's teddy bear, I would leave it right in his chair.

  13. I love that Oscar's teddy bear will stay there in his chair until he indicates to you (and he will) that it is alright to put it with his other things.
I love his photos and I hope you will show us others when the time seems right. XX

  14. You are correct that the innocent-looking ones are the biggest mischief-makers! *points to Faraday* case in point.

What a sweet pillow to sit next to Oscar's teddy. I wouldn't move his heated blanket either. Sending hugs as we know how much you miss him...

  15. Winston seems to be a bit of a kitty clown!! :-) The photo of Oscar is very sweet. It will take time, but you will know when it is right. We never move on from loving our departed kitties, but we can move on to love some more. xx
