October's End

Hello all,  It's Winston kitty today.  I'll interrupt my busy schedule of anihilating this vicious toy to keep you all up to date on our feline, and feline servant, happenings.
It's getting close to the end of the month.  Mom loves October because of the beautiful autumn leaves.  There are still some trees with leaves but there are more trees that are showing us their empty branches.  Mom took a walk yesterday.  She couldn't resist shuffling through the leaves on the sidewalk.  Mom loved the sound of her shoes going through the fallen foliage. Said it made her feel like she was in elementary school again!   Whatever, Mom!
It's my turn now!  Emily reporting for you all.  Here is a photo of me trying to decide how I should occupy myself--should I scratched one of the posts, play on the essss, or attack the vicious pink fluffy "snake".   People think felines have it easy but I can assure you we face difficult decisions everyday!  Back to Mom now....that walk...well it led her through the park.
The park is always beautiful but she thinks it is especially beautiful at this time of year.  Mom isn't the only one fascinated with the leaves.  I wish she would have brought us back some to sniff and play with later.  She won't, though, because Winston has an insatiable desire to rip into them and gobble them up  Mom , the spoil sport, doesn't approve!
It's my turn, now, Emily.   I don't mind interrupting my naps for you!   Mom's walk through the leaves and the park ended up at a cute little cafe to meet a friend.  She had a lovely tea!  Plus she talked about important things like felines and possibly books and cat toys!  I know she talked about cat toys.
Here the tea is steeping and the cafe provides a small shortbread cookie on the side.  Yummy!

Mom wants us to close with this photo.  She was in a car with a friend during an autumn rain shower when she saw this rainbow.  She likes to look for moments of serendipity.
Take care everybody--try to find moments of grace and beauty to enrich  your day.  |If you have felines this shouldn't be too hard!

  1. Emily, you're right, being a cat, with so many decisions to make on a daily basis, can be very taxing. We suggest you pace yourself, so as not to become exhausted.

You live in a pretty area -- but we think your mom *should* be bringing leaves home for you to play with. After all, *she* gets to enjoy the fall leaves! You can always teleport over to our little garden--there are tons of leaves in it right now, plus a visiting squirrel, trying to store food, right. inside. our. garden.

BTW, talking about cat toys is all well and good, but your mom needs to follow through and BUY some cat toys! Just sayin'!

  2. We are happy to see you kitties having fun and making choices.
Looks like your Mom had a great day outdoors too ;)
We have had lots of rain, but Mom did not see a neat rainbow like that!

  3. Autumn is coming to an end here too...there are many bare branches but some lovely wine coloured leaves are hanging on for dear life to our vines...a scattering of prettiness can still be found.

We are glad that all of you are well.

  4. We raked and raked and raked, but the branches still are holding onto some leaves! This is the time of year I start worrying about the outside cats; are the shelters built strong enough, warm enough, cozy enough? This weekend, I'll beef up the straw and put in the warming pad.

  5. Mommy says she misses scuffling through leaves, but NOT the snow that follows!

  6. Mom bean says she would like it if the season lasted a little longer.l All of our leaves have fallen, and there was snow in the air today! So we knows winter is not far behind, blehhh!

Stay warm and have fun with the toys!

  7. We do have a lot of decisions to make don't we! We find that thinking the over during a nap helps.

  8. I love shuffling the leaves too, it DOES make me feel like a kid again! What a lovely end of October post. That rainbow is amazing, especially with the darkness! You are right, we have to look for things where we find them!

  9. Autumn is such a lovely time of the year. We hope you kitties enjoy your day and find a good spot for a nice nap.
